Summary: The Junior Cost Controller supports the Lead Cost Controller with the control of job costs, comparison of actual vs budget figures and cost projection based on job site scheduled production.
Including but not limited to:
Codification of actual costs to be properly booked in the general ledger based on budgeted activities;
Cost analysis of actual costs compared with budgeted figures, variance analysis and explanation, determine revised projections based on actual figures;
Run and understand cost reports extracted from the general ledger;
Provide support to the Lead Cost Controller and AFC Manager as required;
Any other duties as assigned and required by the AFC Manager.
High school diploma or bachelor degree in accounting, economics or equivalent;
Basic knowledge of general accounting and financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement);
6 months of experience in an administrative/support role, with an emphasis on accounting and/or cost management;
High flexibility on managing ongoing activities and support of the Lead Cost Controller and AFC Manager at 360 degrees, including monthly closing process;
Strong proactivity and problem solving approach on any matter;
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
