Job Description Under the direction of the CFO (Chief Financial Officer), plans, organizes and manages operational and personnel functions for centralized scheduling, benefit verification, and pre registration. Assists CFO in the development and implementation of a department budget, goals and objectives, policies and procedures, staff training, development and quality assurance activities. Experience: Three to five years progressively more responsible experience in an acute care facility providing patient accounting services and/or registration services, which included at least two years in a management role. Education: *Minimum of a Bachelor’s level degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Health Care Administration, Business or related field. *Education may be waived with a minimum of a high school diploma and an additional four years progressively more responsible experience above minimum requirements. Registration/Certification: None is required. Job Knowledge and Skills: 1) Requires an in-depth knowledge of process utilized in the admission, processing and discharge of hospital clients, regulatory and public assistance requirements and accounting principles utilized in debit/credit management, as well as legislation impacting same. 2) Demonstrates knowledge of required disciplinary planning for coordination of services and achievement of related goals and objectives. 3) Demonstrates knowledge of management theory and practice to effectively lead staff in area of responsibility. 4) Requires strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to ensure the effective and quality delivery of department services. Requires independent judgment and professional responsibility to provide management and constructive feedback to administration, corporate, other departments and internal/external customers. Requires the skills necessary to support hospital management in the development, administration and ongoing monitoring of the department budget(s) within established goals and objectives. 5) Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to establish, promote, and maintain positive working relationships with administration, the medical staff, hospital staff and all other internal and external customers, as needed. 6) Requires strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to integrate client process to service providers, optimize client payment receipts for same and initiate quality evaluation and performance plans.
