Job Description This position oversees compliance duties for St. Joseph Hospital and Dupont Hospital. Provides direction and oversight of the Compliance program including developing and implementing the education programs addressing compliance and Code of Conduct. Responsible for identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk for the hospital and communicating the importance of the compliance program to executive management and the Board of Trustees. Prepares and distributes the written Code of Conduct. Implements a retaliation-free internal reporting system including an anonymous telephone system. Oversight of internal patient auditing program. Chairs Compliance Council. Job Requirements Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Licensure: None Required
Experience: Must have experience in health care law and compliance.
Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred in a related area and at least 7 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Specific knowledge of fraud and abuse and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement issues.
Specific knowledge in health care compliance law and HIPPAA regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and perseverance in investigations.
Must have a valid state driver’s license and provide own transportation.
