Description Local not for profit organization is in search of an accounting manager to join their team on a direct hire basis.
The Accounting Supervisor under limited direction, recommends, implements, and controls accounting policies and procedures, coordinates and operates accounting, accounts payable, billing and fixed assets functions of the organization. The Accounting Supervisor will assist in the preparation of financial statements and various financial reports along with budget development.
Exercises broad supervision of unrestricted and restricted fiscal activity to ensure sufficient fiscal controls to safeguard institutional funds while allowing the institution to accomplish its programmatic missions.
Provides direction and assistance to agency departments regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, implementation of new practices and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.Provides accurate and timely reporting of financial conditions to the Chief Financial Officer.
Assists with the development and maintenance of Policies and Procedures Manual that includes internal controls.Ensures that staff understand and follow policies and procedures.
Demonstrates leadership in all facets of the accounting department.
Acquires and keeps current a knowledge base of current local, state, and national trends in our business lines and the potential impact on the Accounting Department. Project needed changes to maintain excellent services.
Ensures adequate controls are maintained to safeguard assets and promote accurate and reliable financial/accounting data.
Reports financial information to the Chief Financial Officer accurately and timely.
Retires accounts payable in a timely fashion.
Aggressively keeps billings current.
Aggressively pursues past due accounts receivables.
Keeps unrecoverable receivables to a minimum.
