The Senior Investment Accountant will provide timely and accurate investment data and Investment accounting for the General Account Invested Assets on a Statutory, GAAP, Management, and Tax basis. Responsible for performing investment research, analysis and proper accounting treatment of Lincoln Financial Group’s (LFG) investment positions to support strategic investment operations and initiatives.
·Provide proper investment accounting treatment of General Account Invested Assets under applicable Statutory, GAAP, Management and Tax basis
·Support an effective Investment Accounting function for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility by identifying risks
·Research technical investment accounting issues
·Advise management on the identified risks and financial implications
·Provide timely and accurate trade research, confirmation and settlement of fixed income and derivative instruments across a multi asset manager platform for General Account Investment Operations
·Responsible for the proper setup, maintenance, pricing and accounting of invested assets in accordance with Statutory, GAAP and TAX reporting requirements to support accurate financial reporting
·Resolve discrepancies and take actions on matters and inquires on General Account Invested Assets from portfolio management and multiple asset managers
·Prepare and communicate concise and focused technical financial documents, presentations, and communications
·Support the preparation of industry and governmental surveys for area(s) of responsibility (memos, fact sheets, collateral materials) which direct the reader to salient points for a wide range of technical and nontechnical audiences
·Review technical work and communications of junior team members
·Collaborate effectively with applicable key stakeholders across the enterprise to facilitate the accurate and timely completion of the tax process for assigned area(s) of responsibility
·Maintain current and emerging accounting/financial reporting regulatory rules and requirements, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies
- Provide education on fixed income and derivative investments for existing and developing investment strategies for compliance with accounting/reporting regulations to appropriate key stakeholders and investment accounting team members ensuring completion of responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner

Internal Controls and Requirements
·Maintain investment accounting’s internal control system to ensure SOX compliance
·Identifies and recommends process improvement and procedural or accounting changes to enhance departmental effectiveness
·Maintain current and emerging accounting/financial reporting regulatory rules and requirements, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies, minimal travel, no relocation, can work with unique assett classes of investments.
·Undergraduate Degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Accounting, Finance, or business is preferred
·3-5+ yrs. of experience in Investment Accounting, Finance,or related experiencethat directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
·Educational experience and/or proficiency in:
o GAAP, SOX 404, and Compliance Requirements o Financial Services or Insurance Investment Accounting experience is preferred o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced ability to use Microsoft excel including use of Industry Tools (Bloomberg, PAM for Investments, Axiom, PeopleSoft )#LI-AY1
